As anyone met this problem before.
Yes, more than once with the 4.0.6 source distribution under debian potato and oracle 8.1.x and even with my own oci8 code (i.e. no pear/phplib/whatever). This was back in around march afaik.
I have been working on that for two days now and we ended up using gdb to trace where the error happens. I think we have found the reason why there is this problem. It is a bug, a dangerous one as it can cause segmentation fault on our Apache webserver. In oci8.c (in php sources '/ext/oci8' dir), we noticed that a rollback is done even if the connection is closed. We have commented the lines, recompiled php, and it works perfectly. Just to be sure, we tested our scripts on two platforms : 1. Suse 7.2, Oracle 9.0.1, Php 4.0.6 (apxs, no mysql, enable sigchild, oci8) and Apache 1.3.20 2. Redhat 6.2, Oracle 8.1.6, Php 4.0.6 (same as above), Apache 1.3.22, OpenSSL Both had the same errors in php error log. A friend of mine will certainly put a new bug today on bugs.php.net for this to be fixed. If someone knows who is maintaining oci8.c, could you tell him about that. Thanks. Bertrand Mansion Mamasam
