Just a thought: would something like Smarty2XSLT be possible? E.g a simple(ish) set of commands and modifiers used with Dreamweaver to create templates, which are then compiled into XSLT by the program, ready to be applied to XML output of the PHP application. This would be a winner - none of the complications of XSLT, while still using its power... I couldn't have explained that better. When I look at the designers in our company, I don't think they will ever learn XSLT; for them it is much easier to make some HTML templates in Dreamweaver, GoLive or whatever they use and fire them through some kind of template engine than learning this whole XSLT thingie ;-).XSLT might be fine for hardcore programmer types. It is not fine for technically inclined designer types.
