Clay Loveless (http://pear.php.net/user/clay) has commented on the proposal for
RFC::RFC_PackageVariableNamingConvention.
Comment:
Everything about a coding standard is geared primarily towards
maintainability. The notion that a coding standard or adherance to one
makes code *harder* to maintain indicates a misunderstanding of good
development practices, or inexerience in trying to fix someone else's
code.
If any developer doesn't want to adhere to the PEAR coding standard,
that's fine -- they're under no obligation to submit their code to PEAR.
