Now, I'd like to know if Pierre will be pulled from PEAR as well ?

I think the pure arrogance of doing this without a.) talking with PEAR-GROUP (as was stated clearly in a post from Martin) or b.) polling/asking the community for help should result, in the very least, of him being removed from the core group.
Again, I understand WHY it's being pulled, but what I simply cannot understand nor accept is the fact that a single person made this decision. If Pierre needed help pushing through the new REST API or simply didn't have the time the least he could have done is asked the list for help.
