I'm all for using PHP5/E_STRICT compatible packages. I, honestly, didn't notice PEAR_Error was deprecated so I'll make that change to the package, but I don't see any viable alternatives to HTTP_Request. So I propose:
1.) David puts put HTTP_Request2 (again, any help needed just ask).
2.) I leave it as is until a viable replacement is put forth. I agree with Greg in that we shouldn't turn down packages just because they rely on non-E_STRICT packages if there are no viable replacements. Especially in cases like mine where it's completely abstracted from the developer (I could switch to vanilla fsock calls and nobody would be able to tell the difference).
