Hi,

What about I make HTTP_Request2 php5 ? I could pull it out today I don't mind.. shouldn't take that long anyways.. and when there's a change to HTTP_Request (fix/features/etc) I sync them... Let me know what you guys think.I think you greatly underestimate the amount of work required for HTTP_Request2. 1) HTTP_Request depends on Net_Socket and Net_URL, both of which are PHP4 as well and need either be converted to PHP5 or dumped (and the equivalent functionality included into HTTP_Request2). 2) Philippe Jausions (I'm Cc:ing him) was working on refactoring HTTP_Request to support both CURL (with the intention on dumping Net_Curl) and fsockopen() approach. If we are doing the next major version, we should at least try to incorporate his work. 3) HTTP_Request gathered quite a bit of cruft over the years so refactoring is in order. As well as major API cleanup. 4) Naturally flowing from (3) is the need to have tests. Being a lead developer of HTTP_Request I won't let half-baked HTTP_Request2 package past me. If, on the other hand, there are actually volunteers wishing to do a better HTTP_Request for PHP5, they are most welcome. But let's discuss the package first before trying to "implement" it in one evening.
