For those unfamiliar with Postgres, there are wonderful tools like PGAdmin and PGAccess. You
don't have to have a local copy of the database on your own machine. Cygwin is a little
difficult but is definately doable. I don't think anyone should rule out Postgres, even without
a full released Windows version, until they have looked at it. Here's your chance to justify
your Linux box.

*sigh* They should update their site every once in a while, then...
too bad, I was going to propose Postgres as an alternative to MySQL
and MSSQL at work, but I´ll never get that through if there´s no real
Windows support without cranky emulation layers :-(
