Yeah, downloaded the binary, still had problems. Part of the issue is I don't have as much time as I need to devote to this. I just need to formulate solid alternatives for my apps. It would be nice to have Postgres on my belt though, give me some more experience with other stuff. Anyhow, we'll see... If I get more time I may tackle it again.

Postgres seems nice, granted, if you can get it to work. Cygwin seemed to go onto my machine no problem, however, Postgres just couldn't start.Have you tried installing not the Cygwin version, but the Windows beta (worked for me)? Have you tried asking on pgsql-cygwin mailing list http://www.postgresql.org/lists.html ? Have you looked at http://techdocs.postgresql.org/ ? I mean, PEAR list is not the best place for asking about PostgreSQL, PHP people are traditionally familiar with only one DBMS... ;] And it's unwise to think that if you have experience with only this DBMS then you'll be able to install and run any other without needing to learn anything.Anyhow, does anyone know if they are ever planning on releasing a win copy?It seems (from reading the developers maillists) that they just couldn't bring the win32 port to releasable state before the July 1st feature freeze and didn't want to delay the 7.4 release. So the win32 port will probably be in next version (7.5 or 8.0) that will probably be released sometime later this year.
