Then the right approach is to start trying to get them to look at
alternatives to MSWindows, isn't it? ;-P
Database servers really shouldn't have much else running on them, and,
that being the case, there doesn't seem to be much reason not to use one
of the free varieties of UNIX. Dedicated server, and, presto, OS is no
longer an argument against PostGreSQL.
