As said before, I do believe that BC is possible (at a minor performance
loss), and that I'd prefer to se BC implemented in subclasses which add the
needed functions - the composer class should allready be almost BC...
I also believe it's possible having both API's installed at the same time
without any problems...

attitudes).
I for one have no personal attitude in this concern - my package fits my
needs (or will when the save/restore-feature is implemented). If the
proposal is possitively recieved, I suppose it'll be included PEAR one way
or another...
