PEAR Group needs to open its hands, not clench its fists. Open the policies just a bit; new and great things will happen. Does that mean PEAR Group will need to change its vision of what PEAR should be? Perhaps -- but maybe it *ought* to be changed. To illustrate: Of the 6 negative votes for Savant, 5 are from the Group. All of the 12 positive votes are from regular non-Group developers. What does this say about the disconnect between the Group and the community? The PEAR community is speaking; PEAR Group should listen.
Mate, each 8 months come a guy, with the definitive template and each time that template after 200 msgs gets accepted, so please think twice what are you taking about.
I think I was that guy 8 months ago, too. ;-) But this is not about templates, it's about PEAR policy and the evolution of the PEAR project. As always, I may be wrong -- please let me be wrong, in fact, I don't want it to actually be like that. But I gotta call what I think I see. -- Paul M.
