Hi, I vote for "Template" with extension "Template_Flexy," not to be too redundant. Obviously, all the compile code has to go - that should be in Template_Flexy, not in Template. a nice compile() method that simply returns the template should be the base method. In addition, I vote for all the flexy options to be in the Template_Flexy options array, and merged into the global, as you described. Perhaps Paul could have a go at de-flexying the base template? It's way too customized for flexy, the code he strips (and adds) should give a good idea of what is not generic template code, but is specific to flexy, as well as what is missing. Maybe Stephan could comment on how hard it would be to extend "Template" to do patTemplate as well? Greg
