Hi,
This discussion is interesting to me because I joined this list to
find out answers to these questions.
Currently, we are working on a codebase for use with Indymedia
websites (http://www.indymedia.org/) which can be seen at
http://tech.sfimc.net/
The point is to develop a set of classes which can be reused to
building Indymedia sites.
Part of that includes a db abstraction class and a template class. I
came here to find out if we should be moving towards PEAR's equivalent
classes.
But now I don't know. So, is PEAR an application framework (which is
what I would call what we are doing)? Or can someone explain the
difference between a framework and a "pool of classes that follow
coding standards"?
Thanks,
gkd
