You did not seem to agree to have only one database abstraction package
in PEAR either.
One point that I need to make clear is that I definetely did not make
that proposal because I developed Metabase, but rather because PHP can
only benefit from having only one officially advertised database
abstraction package like Java for JDBC.
So, please don't understand it as if you don't want to make me feel bad
if Manuel Lemos Metabase is rejected from being integrated PEAR. I see
no point in accepting Metabase just to please me and in the end we still
have more than one officially advertised database abstraction packages.
If you don't agree with having just one database abstraction package for
developing truely portable applications using Metabase code as start
base, just say it. Not saying yes is not a problem for me, but not
saying a definite no is not helping either because you are stalling
people like Lukas that are willing to invest a lot of time on the effort
but they only want to do it if it is going to be accepted.
So what will it be: yes or no?
Regards,
Manuel Lemos
