Hi,
well in the versions I have released so far I have begun moving to PEAR
error handlers directly. Even though some of the stuff I am doing can
certainly be done nicer I will improve those parts as I learn more about
the the exact behavior of each of the Db abstraction layers. Right now I
am not taking full advantage of the PEAR error handling but I will do so
in the near future. Anyways I am also just playing with things here just
to see what method is the better one.
I have not gotten any comments on my work so far but I feel it allready
proofs that it is doable so now I will focus on trying to find the best
interrim solutions that can be used until there is a C port.
I want this interrim solution to be good and actually a superset of the
features of PEAR DB and Metabase. I also want to keep BC. So anyways I
am not working on a wrapper around Metabase anymore but more in a merged
version that people would want to use in production use but also keeps
BC. For this I am taking a look at how PEAR DB and how Metabase solve
different things to try and extract the optimal one. In some cases PEAR
DB and Metabase are similar and in others they take very different
approaches.
Best regards,
Lukas Smith
