Can we settle that with a "packages SHOULD use exceptions, if so it MUST extends PEAR_Exception" (as in RFCs). Would that be reasonnable ?
I'm wondering if we should start a PEPr voting where people can state which option they prefer. So far I see the following choices:
      * Force exception usage in PHP 5 code
      * Continue PEAR_Error(Stack) exclusively
      * Encourage exceptions but allow PEAR_Error in individual cases
      * Leave it up to the maintainer
I think holding a vote on this is the best thing we can do.
Didnt we already have a vote on this and decided to go with Exceptions only? regards, Lukas
