This makes absolutely no sense. What is a book? We have a bunch of XML
files and some rules to build human-readable docs from them. It is
trivial to build a subset. If you only wish to generate the function
reference, then you only generate the function reference. Splitting this
stuff up into multiple build trees is what would make it unmaintainable.
We would have to propogate changes from one DSSSL framework to another.
And if somebody is dead set against putting non-reference docs near the
reference docs, then it is a minor tweak in the makefile.
We have a powerful DSSSL framework for maintaining and generating
documentation. I see no reason to place artificial limits on it.
