BTW, I think Rasmus' attack on Zend.com is very uncalled for. There seems to be some kind of anti-Zend in him whenever one of us two says something. Wait a second. I simply took out "php.net" and substituted it with "zend.com" in something Zeev wrote. If that was an attack on zend.com, then Zeev's was an attack on php.net.
As I said I didn't read the whole thread. I doubt Zeev would attack php.net because he's also a PHP guy, remember? One of the more significant ones too. Remember we had lots and lots of stability problems with php.net? I think that's what he meant. I doubt he attacked his project. We were hosting php.net for a while at Zend.com just because it hurt us as PHP Group guys to have an unusable web site. Once php.net came back to live it was moved back. Anyway, I'm not going to read the backlog because it's too much reading for me to do right now. So I can't side with anyone, neither Zeev nor you. I just think there often is an anti-Zend ("Ze"ev & A"nd"i) in your writing. I don't know why because we seem to get along swell face to face :) Let me just strengthen what I wrote in my previous Email. It's open-source, we're all volunteers, people contribute what they want. Let's not turn ppl down unless they are really writing junk :) But personally I really really want to prioritize the reference content in the manual before other stuff. It is so good and we have gotten so much good feedback over the years. So let's keep it complete and so on (maybe cover language stuff a bit more) and only then work on tutorials. We can guide ppl if they ask "what is best for me to work on?". Of course if someone says "I will only write a tutorial or nothing", then let's not turn him down. We can always decide to post it on php.net instead of the manual if we don't think it fits in. And if it does, we can put it in. Andi --- Andi Gutmans <andi@zend.com> http://www.zend.com/
