And I think I came across too harsh there.
For the record (and archives), the support I've gotten from the PHP community
has generally been much stronger than that of just about any other
dev community I've been in. The *downside* I was referring to
was far more directed at other libraries (pdflib, gd, freetype, some other
minor but necessary ones, etc.)
And to balance out my criticisms with a postivie note, Brian
the freetds guy has been *more* than helpful and supportive
of his product and our project, bending over backwards to help
out in sticky situations, even when freetds wasn't the culprit.
Going from the PHP list to other lists isn't always as helpful
as possible tho, leading to frustrations I outlined in the previous email.
