For the record, I didn't ask the question originally. I was just trying to
get people to throw up something valuable for a response since I was
interested.

Part of the reason your question isn't being taken seriously is that this
topic comes up -constantly-, and the archives contain many debates that
answer your question thoroughly. The debate gets old, and every time
somebody asks the question, there is less motivation to answer it because
all the answers are nicely archived on the web.
So, research. The answers are out there already. I agree there should be
a better repository of all these answers. The PHP vs CF debate is
probably documented better than the ASP one. All that's required is for
somebody to sit down and compile all the useful points that have been made
over the years in the archives.
