This is not the place to actually argue out the ins and outs of this stuff -
it's enough to state that the two types of solutions (opensource and
commercial) need to be taken into consideration and all the pros and cons
weighed up by the individual at the time, and leave it at that.
It's impossible to state which is better as fact because it differs so much
from person to person, and situation to situation.
