Every new day comes with its bunch of deprecated functionalities, backward
compatibility breaks and secret changes in the world of PHP, so I wouldn't be
too surprised.
The easy solution would be to mark HTML_QuickForm incompatible with PHP5 because
we use is_a() which is deprecated in PHP5. The problem is that is_a() was
replaced by a PHP5-only function. Every code using is_a() is not PHP5 compatible
and will break.
The other day, I noticed that class_exists() now takes an optional parameter to
force it not to use __autoload(). It's becoming a nightmare.
No wonder there are less than 5% of PHP5 adopters after 2 years !
