There is good reasons. Please refer to the last discussions about this topic (and it was about phpunit and you participated to this discussion). Also it makes no sense to add a test for the tests, the only case where a dep to phpunit is required is for phpunit subpackages. But these packages should in the phpunit repository from now on. -- Pierre
