I raised this up in the General, being new to PEAR but keen to help, because we are now making extensive use of the packages.
I asked what was PEAR's roadmap, what is the PEAR group doing to stay ahead.
I didn't think that PEAR was that attractive for new developers, and that most would now go for things like the Zend framework.
I read today the Horde homepage and then the PEAR one there was remarkable differences in the tone and content of the opening spiel.
I got shot down though for asking these questions, but they seem more valid to me now, I don't want to put my company in a position where we are using PEAR and then the whole thing crumbles, this is a overstatement definitely, but some literature on where PEAR is going will not only help developers, but users alike.
