Ok Ok I really have to relax a bit. Forgive me, but I was spending the last
12 hours, trying to get PEAR on my computer and I'm down with my nerves, so
probably I choose the wrong words.
Thanks for your advice with easyphp.com. Might be a workaround, until
window-install-problems are fixed in PEAR. But honest, such a major problem
should not be pushed to some private project like easyphp. This
circumstances should be solved internally by PEAR itself and I see a real
need for that. If PEAR is looking forward to become one of the big-players
like CPAN there should happen something immediately. As well as PEAR just
became (some kind of) stable and left beta-character, it is twice important
to solve this. But all in all, I cannot understand, why there is no
PEAR-base-packet to download like all other software? Or better a
whole-bunch-big-pack. With cron it might be easily possible to make
snapshots every time one of the base-classes is updated. Even PHP itself
does it like this. Where's the problem? Download-size can not be the reason,
cause the hole Lib takes only about 2MB. If the installer itself would do
it's job, we might talk about a second way to get PEAR, but as long as it
does not, it's ridiculous to force the audience to get stuck on it. And all
that only because of a stupid not existent download-link. Sorry, I can't
help myself, but this makes no sense and me really angry. The only I'm
reading are some tips on how it should be or might be or how it is intended
to do but do not....
as a little hint from my site, the easiest solution for that problem starts
with <a href=" and ends with PEAR_complete.zip" alt="click and get
happy!">Pear</a>
