Up to now, I've never used PHP on Windows but to see what problems Till
might have, I just downloaded apache_2.0.44-win32-x86-no_ssl.msi and
php-4.3.0-Win32.zip. I installed Apache 2 in the proposed directory
(C:\Programme\Apache Group\Apache2) and unzipped PHP to C:\PHP.
Next I added C:\PHP to my %PATH%, so that I can easily type "php" on a
command line and thus be able to run the PEAR installer.
After this, I copied C:\PHP\php4ts.dll to C:\PHP\sapi and
C:\PHP\php4ts.dll and C:\PHP\sapi\php4apache2.dll to C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32
(I'm using Windows XP Pro). I also copied C:\PHP\php.ini-recommended to
C:\WINDOWS and renamed it php.ini. In this php.ini, I changed:
include_path = ".;C:\PHP\;C:\PHP\PEAR\"
extension_dir = C:\PHP\extensions\
According to
http://www.php.net/manual/en/install.windows.php#install.windows.manual,
this should be all I've got to do, shouldn't it?
Well, when I run "lynx -source http://go-pear.org | php",
nothing
happens. In the title of the window, I can see that lynx (from cygwin)
is shortly launched but then - nothing... :( I also tried it with lynx
from http://www.fdisk.com/doslynx/lynxport.htm.
Did I miss something? If so - what?
Thanks a lot,
Alexander Skwar
