I agree with Stig, there does need to be a careful balance. I feel this
package is an example of what he was talking about. The MVCnPHP package
is relatively small and in no way monolithic. I honestly feel there
should be a place for things like this in PEAR granted they can stay
small and compartmentalized.
While this may be considered a type of framework, I don't believe it is a
framework in the sense that Stig was thinking in that email (though I
could very well be wrong). In fact this is no more a framework than
things like HTML_Template_Flexy and other template systems. I say so
because just like those template libraries, MVCnPHP has no real value
until an application starts using it.
To address an earlier question, you can still use any PEAR form or
template library you want. The views you create that would extend the
BaseView class would simply need to include the appropriate libraries and
then begin using them.
Jeroen, once you get it working I'd be interested to know exactly what you
had to change to get it working. I did notice that I had to tweak some
path's in various files because I had the path to the base MVCnPHP package
in my include_path so I need to iron all those out.
I hope some of the rest of you get a chance to take a closer look. In
addition to handling program flow, the other benefit which merit's all
your attention is the fact that the code needed to process a request is
loaded on the fly as needed.

harmlessly strange and sort of amusing. When you
think about it, that might be a fair assessment."
