Why not just have everyone use the news gateway (news.php.net)? I do,
and it works out just great. I can pick and choose which articles I
want/need to read, then when I'm done I say "Mark all read", and it's
ready for the next download. Nothing goes into my inbox; it stays in my
news reader (unless, of course, someone replies to my posts directly).
Additionally, news.php.net gives you easy access to the many other PHP
forums available, and you don't have to explicitly
subscribe/unsubscribe. There's no login associated with news.php.net,
so anyone can get on it without difficulty.
It just makes more sense to me to use the news gateway.
Stephen.
