What was proposed is some addition to the site (be it a form to fill out or some text describing what to do) which makes it clear how a company can contribute and to allow them to more easily offer to contribute, however that may be.
Why not adding a link somewhere on the package's page that would read: "Want to sponsor development of this package?". That would take whoever wants to sponsor the package to a page with a list of steps they could take. 1. Contact current maintainer(s) (please be sure to specify PEAR and the package's name in the subject), 2. If no response, contact PEAR-dev list. -Philippe
