Quoting Davey Shafik <davey@php.net>:
Excellent, thanks for clearing this up. It might be wise for Zend to inform us of these things before they go live so we don't jump to any conclusions.I don't find this reasonable. I'm open to hearing reasons for it other than keeping people from being jumpy...
Just so you know, I was merely pointing out possibilities in my original e-mail, I wasn't trying to say they were true.I believe you, but it sure put me on the defensive. Hopefully we're all clear and straightened out now.
I really do like Zend (couldn't live without Zend Studio) and have had no problems with them except the issue over the PHP 5 Competition. I think really, Zend needs to be a little more communicative with us (and others) when using our names and such in their press releases. I understand that PR stretches the truth (any good PR that is!) but telling us before hand would be great!I'm curious which name you think Zend is using here that you have a claim to? The only one I can think of is PEAR::SOAP - which is pretty specific and to the point, no? -chuck -- "But she goes not abroad in search of monsters to destroy." - John Quincy Adams
