Quoting Justin Patrin <papercrane@gmail.com>:its not that anyone has a problem with paypal, zend or who ever contributing. its all about the press release. just send a press release note to the pear group or pear-dev when you publish it. this is not an approval process, just a nod to pear in general. and yes while pear maintainers enjoy alot of freedom, saying that its only interesting for the maintainer cuts the work of the community to create this infrastructure short. also i think its fair to say that the word PEAR in that press release added to the credibility of the press release. so it would be only fair to give PEAR the opportunity to also exploit this. obviously we heared about it anyways, and we can now say: look people are sponsoring the improvement of PEAR packages! but its common curteously if you speak about someone in a press release that you let them know. therefore i dont really understand your annoyment by people stating this fact. letting PEAR kniw seems like such an obvious behaviour. but i presume you misunderstood that people were asking to be involved in the entire sponsoring decision and press release wording? regards, LukasA quick note from Chuck would even have been enough.I'm trying to let this go, but... what did you want me to write a note about? All of the code was in CVS months before the press release. We even released a new version of the package before the press release. None of the commits hid what was going on - they described the bugs that were being fixed. The new package version clearly describes all the bugs that were fixed. All of it was done in the open before the press release. Why does it matter who paid for the time spent doing that?
