Quoting Lukas Smith <lsmith@php.net>:
therefore i dont really understand your annoyment by people stating this fact. letting PEAR kniw seems like such an obvious behaviour.Okay. It's not at all obvious to me. It's not that I'm unsympathetic, really - I'm on the other side of this with Horde sometimes. But a). I'm used to people not bothering to contact Horde, b). Horde isn't a legal entity - just like PEAR, c). I don't write the darn press releases, I don't have say over them, and I don't know exactly when they go out. I was consulted and tried to make sure it was technically accurate. Next time, if there is a next time, I'll probably warn people that the PEAR group is very touchy and would like to be treated like a corporate partner in the press release. But I don't get the say over it, and I really don't *want* the say over it.
but i presume you misunderstood that people were asking to be involved in the entire sponsoring decision and press release wording? No, I understood (and I really don't think I MIS-understood) that the actions of Zend and PayPal were being questioned and there was doubt that any code had or ever would be contributed, merged, etc. The discussion, has ranged into other things since then, it seems. -chuck -- "But she goes not abroad in search of monsters to destroy." - John Quincy Adams
