Hello,
Just read this thread :)
Providing an easy and visible interface for package proposals is a very good day, joined with a kind
of polls to see if there is a need too.
But I do not like to see an automatic system to accept/reject packages after a certain amount of
time/hits/pears/apples. This task must be done by an admin, someone who has a good view of PEAR and
get the approbations of others admins. Here 'admins' means simply a group of responsable,
available persons. I know a lot of the current admins are very busy, but we can find enough
volunteers in the active members of the PEAR community.
Why am I against an automatic system ? imho, we are not cpan, hotscripts, phpclasses or others
scripts archives hosts. We will never get thousands of proposals per week, or if we ll get this
amount of proposals, well, PEAR reaches success, and it will be very difficult at all to keep
consistency&coherence in the packages tree.
just my 2cts,
pa
