Hello,

Unfortunately, loughing did take such a long time until now, soAre you feeling well? You seem very frustrated and angry with every little thing I say and demonstrate with simple reasoning, that I doubt that I can be the cause of all that anger.
I couldn't respond earlier. These will be my last 2 posting regarding this issue, I suggest Manuel you should continue it via PM if you want to.I have nothing to say to you privately on this issue. I gave you my hints on how you can succeed with an HOF in your projects. If you don't want to take those hints, obviously there is nothing else I can do to help you.

PVs per month) where I installed a community hall of fame (not for hunting bugs, but for another thing). I experienced that just installing a HOF wouldn't help encouraging people to work.Have you ever considered that you were not doing it smoothly. Smoothness
That is just your opinion.is a key factor to make it succeed. I can explain that but I would have to give an example with the PHPClxssys site that you seem to have some alergy.I don't have an alergy with that. Only in certain contexts, but the readers might have observed that you seem to be not able thinking with contexts.
Somebody would have to pay for that though. My point was that you can succesfully make an HOF work without providing prizes or something that costs money.Give away products, buy a conference ticket + flight for him, give him books etc. etc.I haven't said anything about paying (i.e. giving money for hunting bugs). What else sponsoring could mean?
Satisfying the user ego and the need to feel integrated in a group can be done in many ways that do not require money. That is my point.be something of value, not necessarily money, but something that may be worth money.Yep, of course.
Human beings are always human beings. In particular, the human beings tha frequent the PHP Classes site are also PHP developers just like the human beings that frequent the *.php.net. Despite you try very hard to contradict me and you state your opinion as if everybody at *.php.net agrees with you, the truth is that it was not even me that brought the issue of using the Hall of Fame to encourage more developers to participate. As a matter of fact there are many people that disagree with you and understand that an hall of fame can help a lot motivating more developers to participate. I always mentioned that one of the benefits that the PHP Classes site provided to the developers that contribute was imediate recognition. One of the forms that it achieves that is the top charts page: http://www.phpclasses.org/browse.html/top/top.html You may claim that one thing may not have to do with the other, but the fact that you may not be aware is that the PEAR project has an hall of fame that in part does the same as the PHP Classes top charts page: http://pear.php.net/package-stats.php Against facts there is no argument. Remember when I told you that despite of all disagreement in many discussion in the past the people of PHP/PEAR project really listen to me and you kept claimed that my tone prevented that to happen? You may want to reconsider that thought. :-) -- Regards, Manuel LemosBecause *.php.net is not PHPClasses. Because web site X is different from web site Y and therefor HOF for web site X may not have the same results as HOF for web site Y. I don't know why it's so hard for you to understand that in theory HOF may be good, but you can't apply it to all sites in practise with prosperity. If it makes you happy, I can be wrong from your point of view, but the fact is that the person that tried HOF and failed was you, not me. So how come I am the one that is wrong? It's nice that you are able to look into my brain, but you are wrong.I don't see where the energy is by installing a HOF. Do you see the energy? That is because you have never measured the effects of an initiative
