Well, first of all Zeev already added parent:: so you can stop ranting :)
erh ... view bug 5377 about the problems with current inheritance
Second, frankly speaking you are the first person telling me about "subclass code reuse". Usually you reuse code by making a new subclass to existing superclass, not but making a new superclass to existing subclass. But PHP now gives you enough rope...
