If you feel that you have a PHP application that absolutely requires
operator overloading, full polymorphism, multiple inheritance or
whatever, then quite possibly it is the architecture of the application
that needs to be rethought. The very architecture of the Web precludes
doing things in the old way...
At least we´ll meet again after zend compiler+cache have been released and a few eCommerce apps show up on zend case studies... :)
I´m sharing Kristians opinion speed shouldn´t be the matter, servers become mature and these kinds of redesigns do hurt more the later they´re implemented...
The web grows up and at least when your mobile phone has got UMTS, you´ve chance browsing a site or using a service offered by PHP on your phones display and on the web and so on...
PHP does not need any OO technique to do some weird stuff, it should pick the best ones and assimilate.
It´ll stay a comprehensive language though.
