Again, this RFC proposes a solution to a problem that doesn't exist. If the problem doesn't exist, why are we trying to fix it? We end up fixing something that doesn't need fixing and at the same time creating several _real_ problems.
The problem is real. The fact that we did not feel it yet was that internals was not defining a lot of classes. This is changing rapidly. So we will get more and more issues. However its also simply good manner in a language that does not support namespaces. There are other class repositories. Of course we can be arrogant and say that we are the "official repository", however I think we can also simply try to be good citizens in the php community and prefix our classes just like all other repositories are starting to do. Obviously the prefix can only be added into new major versions, which in turn require an entire new packages in PEAR due to breaking BC. So the migration to this new scheme will come slowly, but surely. regards, Lukas
