Puh, I think it must have been sometime after I came back from the conference in Budapest march last year. The gist of it is: PEAR should not implement __autoload(), but it might be feasible to provide a static method that people can use inside their __autoload() implementation. This way we could drop all require calls to load classes in PHP5 only code. regards, Lukas
