How are these two paragraphs related in any way? CVS has nothing to do
with Open Source. And yes, I still maintain that PEAR modules in the
official PEAR repository are to be Open Source. Aren't all CPAN modules
available at cpan.org Open Source?
This doesn't mean that there can't be proprietary PHP extensions that make
use of the PEAR infrastructure and thus are easy for PHP users to
install. Such proprietary extensions would be distributed
separated. Likely by the vendours themselves.
