If PHP isn't already, I feel it will soon be a superior tool for server side
coding than many other languages including CFM. However, CFM has a wide
support base via a commerical organization. PHP is getting this too, but
one real problem with PHP is the lack of PHP knowledgable programmers. I
can feel the PHP ranks growing and once the "boss-man" sees a reasonable
size supply of people to work on his storehouse of internal PHP code, he may
adopt it outright. Until then who can blame folks for "buying in" to
commercial solutions that have a decent supply of talent to back it up.

It is the old chicken-and-egg problem. Programmers aren't getting trained
in PHP because there are no jobs; and there are no jobs.....
I searched dice.com's New York site for PHP and I found 48 refererences. I
searched for Cold Fusion and I found 196 references. Go figure.
