Gezz....
They say some pretty nasty things about PHP....
Read on:

A key concern for us is PHP's lack of a standardized database API: To access
the Oracle database we were using, we had to code directly to the Oracle8
API, making our pages very nonportable and upping development costs. There
are some ongoing projects in this area, including an effort to port
Microsoft's ADO API to PHP
===
this is what PHPLIB is there for! $db->query($query); and that's it! Use it
with Oracle, ODBC, MySQL, PostgeSQL with whatever SQL will ever exist!
===
Integrated development tools and debuggers for PHP are scarce (we could only
find one, Ives Development Inc.'s Nexidion Designer, which is nearing
Version 1.0 status). Also, any organization doing clustering or failover
with PHP is in largely uncharted waters.
===
Is that so?

Did this whole topic of conversation come from this new article on ZDNet? I
missed the original thread.

It pretty much bagged PHP in a sense. They say ColdFusion and JSP is the way
to go. The article seemed a little biased to me.
