Hold on.
I am a Coldfusion and PHP developer.
And yes I use that thing called notepad for Coldfusion and PHP3/4.
Easy Hey...
<CFQUERY name="test_the_nutter" datasource="test">
SELECT customer_id, first_name, last_name, tel_number
FROM customers
WHERE (first_name='#form.first_name#')
</CFQUERY>
<CFOUTPUT query="test_the_nutter">
#customer_id# #first_name# #last_name#
</CFOUTPUT>
Yep - hardly difficult a 5 year old could write Coldfusion in Notepad after
a 5 minute demo.
Anyway here is my bit:
1) Coldfusion - 10 times faster developement than ASP or PHP3/4
That is where Coldfusion got it right - We all send mail, we all encrypt a
string so why re-invent
the wheel and have to write code for this - use a tag <CFMAIL or <CFCRYPT
etc......
2) Coldfusion - more stable than PHP3/4
3) Coldfusion costly hosting
4) PHP4 - Wonderful - refreshing quality software which kicks Microsoft ASP
for six
5) Forgot to mention PHP - Free from the good guys from Zend
6) Give PHP to next release and good bye ASP and Coldfusion
7) PHP - runs on Windows, Linux - in fact everything.
Come on Zend - Where is the compiler - we are all waiting patiently
and excited.
Interesting comments when you see who our partners are.

PS I write php4 on Linux daily and Coldfusion when the code is on NT. Just
how it is.
3 Years Coldfusion - 1 Year PHP3/4.
