I think Tomas had a pretty good answer; it's the people who put the work in and
maintain it. Kind of like the PHP Group.

Yes; arriving at concise understandings and definitions is worthwhile. Asking,
for the nth time, why it isn't _this_ way, when the decisions were made years
ago and there isn't a reason being offered, just "I don't like it this way, I
wasn't around when you made this decision, you should change it" is what's
unproductive.
Also, you can go the other way on the black/white thing... there are people who
want the world to be purple, when it can only be red, blue, or striped.
