Alot of what these packages do overlaps with DataObjects. Of course they are different in some ways. But these differences could have been merged into DataObjects. Instead the developer chose to push their implementation.With good reason. When I proposed DB_OO, I was fully aware of the existence of DB_DataObject. I believe DB_OO pushes a different approach, and presented my case. DB_OO got rejected anyway. This was all back in December. DB_Dataobject has yet to reach the ease of use DB_OO had from the inception. I have absolutely no doubt this is largely a result of lack of competition. Result: There is still no Scripting-oriented database table abstraction package in PEAR.
